Every year around this time we see patients who ignored or pushed through an injury towards the end of summer and running season. They took some time off, things have calmed down and they are feeling better. Now they are ramping up and trying to get ready for ski season, but wouldn't you know it...that pesky injury has come back!
Rest certainly helps, but it doesn't fix the problem. If your pain was ultimately caused from a crappy movement pattern/weakness, taking time off doesn't fix your crappy movement!
Don't sit back and put your feet up waiting for the snow to fly...take advantage of this time to address any lingering issues and get healthy.
