Running is one of the few activities that many people participate in but have never received any formal instruction. It's a natural human ability—children run without anyone teaching them! However, having the ability to run does not mean that one runs well. Running efficiently is a skill that requires instruction and practice, just like playing the guitar or hitting a golf ball.
Running mechanics play a major role not only in maximizing performance, but also reducing one's risk of injury. Gait analysis is beneficial for all levels of runners: beginners needing guidance and instruction, those dealing with/recovering from injury, and experienced runners looking for performance gains.
Our run-gait analysis includes:
Full musculoskeletal exam
Multi-angle video recording
Detailed review of findings
Discussion of running gait, footwear considerations, and areas for improvement
Individualized exercises and/or drills
