Addressing pain is an important part of physical therapy.
There are many tools to address pain and to help decrease pain.
These tools and how a physical therapist uses them is different for every patient - at least it should be.
No one person has the same pain or experiences pain the same way, in the same intensity, or in the same form.
EVERYONE is different.
Some tools that physical therapists use to address pain are: soft tissue, deep tissue massage, myofasical release, instrument assisted massage, stretching, dry needling, education, and graded exercise that are appropriate for the individual.
Each of these tools can be helpful but not every tool is appropriate for every person.
