In a previous post, I wrote:
“When we think about healing, we often focus on stretches and exercises.
Supplements, surgeries, anything we can do to speed up recovery.
While all of this is certainly helpful, time remains a necessary and critical component.
Instead of fighting against the time it takes to heal, we must come to understand and appreciate its process. “
What I failed to elaborate on, is that time can also be leveraged to one’s advantage! Consistency is truly the magic element. And consistency, over a period of time, can produce powerful results.
Sometimes we just “wait it out” - wait for healing to occur, wait for recovery to occur. And while there is an element of simply “respecting the process”, consistency can influence the trajectory in your favor. Consistency with stretching. Consistency with foam rolling. Consistency with a strength program.
